A resident of Texas, Ian Ferrell earned his bachelor of arts from the Lubbock campus of Texas Tech University (TTU) in December 2024. He majored in geography and the environment, and minored in geographic information systems (GIS). Ian Ferrell of Katy, Texas, is proficient in the operation of ArcGIS Pro, Survey123, Field Maps, and other common GIS digital tools.

Before graduating from TTU in December 2024, he completed two separate internships with the Plains All American Pipeline Company. Working in Houston from May to August 2023, he learned a great deal about midstream oil and gas operations while performing GIS functions and updating system maps. From May to August, 2024, he served Plains All American in the Permian Basin city of Midland, inspecting and maintaining petroleum pipelines.

In his free time, Mr. Ferrell liked to fish for largemouth bass and follow TTU football and basketball. Over the years, he has volunteered more than 100 hours with food banks in Houston and Lubbock.
